Photon’s Update 08/14/2013

Hello all you people out there you actually know I exist. Kudos to you… for I still do, indeed, exist.

So… how’s everyone doing?

All right, all right… on to business then. It occured to me that despite the fact I have some nice resources here… I don’t really talk about my games that much. Why not? I mean, that’s part of the reason I have this blog… to discuss my game ideas, garner feedback, and generate interest. Not only should I be seeking to better other people’s skills, but my own as well, because then in turn I get better and I can help other people get even better… -er. Yeah. So I hope to change that little dilemna soon.

That being said, I’m trying to get more disciplined with my game design process. I’ve been struggling to get into a new project, and I think its partially because I’m still doing too much of the “fly by the seat of my pants” game design. I need more planning (no planning = more fail). I would like to get serious about a project here sooner than later.

I suppose, ultimately, I shouldn’t be too surprised. I’ve only been seriously going at this for about a year, and in the first two-thirds of that I only produced one complete game (Pixel Ninja). I’m not trying to make excuses, I’m just saying getting the hang of this whole game design thing probably has more hiccups and road bumps than I probably imagined. You fight yourself sometimes as much as you fight the actual game making itself. But I’m going to keep at it.

So stay tuned. I’m still here, and I will be posting.
